The Joint Programme aims to strengthen and advance methodologies to better measure and understand different forms of VAW. This area of work covers:
- Psychological intimate partner violence: Developing a standard definition, measurement and analytical approach for psychological intimate partner violence;
- Violence against older women: Developing a standard set of questions to measure violence against women over 50 years old;
- Violence against women with disabilities: Exploring possible measures to assess the association between disability and VAW;
- Prevalence estimates: Calculating and updating the global, regional and country level estimates on violence against women including for global monitoring and reporting for SDG target 5.2 indicators;
- Technical Advisory Group and Violence Against Women Inter-Agency Group on Estimation and Data: Convening a group of experts to provide technical guidance on methodological approaches for measurement of violence against women; and
- Administrative data on VAW: Developing a global guidance on the collection and use of administrative data on VAW.
