Self-Care Techniques for Family Violence Advocates

The goal of this webinar is to provide education to family violence advocates about: compassion fatigue (the trauma suffered by the helping professional, secondary trauma stress, transference, countertransference), burnout (emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, and reduced sense of personal accomplishment), and compassion satisfaction (the fulfillment from helping others and positive collegial relationships). Also included will be a thorough explanation of tangible self-care techniques, how to develop professional self-care plans, and ways to take care of yourself while working with survivors or domestic violence.
