This course by Against Violence and Abuse in the UK, will focus particularly on the experiences of adolescents as victims and as perpetrators of violence against women and girls.
The course will discuss how to ask adolescents about violence, how to give advice and how to risk assess and safety plan. The course will comprise of interactive activities, group discussions and the use of films to illustrate key topics.
The course is aimed at anyone who works with adolescents where the above issuesmay be a factor, such as social workers, Connexions advisers, refuge staff, youth workers, YOT workers, teachers and police. The course is designed for professionals and practitioners who have had previous basic awareness training in vawg and/or the related issues. There will be networking opportunities to discuss your own practice and meet other professionals working in similar fields.
The course will also be available on 7 September and 6 December 2011.
