Another United Nations mechanism, the Special Rapporteur on violence against women, has issued numerous comprehensive reports which have informed states and citizens on the issue of state compliance with the responsibility for preventing violence against women. Other important United Nations Mechanisms include the Special Rapporteur on the sale of children, child prostitution and child pornography, and the Special Rapporteur on trafficking in persons, especially women and children.
