This handbook, by Inter-Press Service, is a resource for journalists and others working with the media. The handbook  provides information on the context and impact of gender based violence through 12 sections covering: various forms of violence; the intersections between gender-based violence and HIV and AIDS; child abuse; the role of men; criminal justice; and the cost of violence. Each section includes an overview of the issue with facts and statistics, an example of a promising approach in reporting the issue or  considerations for writing on the topic; and questions for facilitators using the handbook for training.
